Retired CHP Sgt., Jack Deadder, ID 2783, Passes Away

THE HAYWARD AREA IS SADDENED TO REPORT THE DEATH OF RETIRED SERGEANT JACK J. DEADDER JR., #2783.  SERGEANT DEADDER WAS 84 YEARS OLD AND PASSED AWAY ON JANUARY 31, 2012, OF NATURAL CAUSES.  HE PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT ON JANUARY 1, 1970, AND HIS ASSIGNMENTS INCLUDED WEST VALLEY, SAN FRANCISCO, AND THE HAYWARD AREA, WHERE HE WORKED UNTIL HE RETIRED ON DECEMBER 31, 1987.


MEMORIAL SERVICES ARE PENDING AND WILL BE ANNOUNCED WHEN FINALIZED.

 


 


Retired CHP Officer, Chuck Medicus, ID 2267, Passed Away

Born June 30, 1928 in Los Angeles, died December 3, 2011 in the AV Hospital.

He attended Covina High School and graduated from Perris High School class of 1942.   He entered the US Navy in November of 1946 and served in the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Pacific and Korea as a radio operator on a PBM sea plane doing air/sea rescue.   He remained in the Navy for 7 years.   Discharged in San Francisco, he met and married Jeannine Harrington in 1953 and returned to Perris, Ca. where he went to work for Northrup and was later transferred to Palmdale.   He lived in a friend’s garage while waiting for the completion of a new home on Lasker St. in Palmdale.  

Chuck joined the C.H.P in 1957 (appointed to CHP on 3-11-57 and retired on 12-30-78) and spent his whole career in the Antelope Valley and retired when Jeannine took ill.   She died in 1982.

Chuck is survived by his daughters, Kathleen McNabb (David) of Antelope, Ca., Ann Marie Medicus of Lancaster, sister, Claudette Shamblin (Gene) of Riverside, Ca., and Donna Beals Medicus, his second wife of 28 ½ years.   Also surviving are step children, Judy Godde (Max) of Jackson, Ca., Joyce Gonzales (Lou) of Acton, Janet Beals of Snowflake, AZ., and Jamie Allgood (Mark) of Quartz Hill.   He also leaves behind his beloved Comanche airplane.   He was preceded in death by two half sisters, Patricia Tomer and Margaret Harris and step-son Jimmy Beals.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at Chapel of the Valley Mortuary, 1755 E. Ave. R, Palmdale.

Retired CHP Officer, Jim Fleck, ID 2936, Passed Away


THE SAN JOSE AREA IS SADDENED TO REPORT THE DEATH OF RETIRED OFFICER JIM FLECK,

#2936.  OFFICER FLECK WAS 76 YEARS OLD AND DIED ON JANUARY 26, 2012 AFTER A SHORT

BATTLE WITH LUNG CANCER.  HIS ASSIGNMENTS INCLUDED THE COYOTE SCALES AND HE WAS

ASSIGNED TO THE SAN JOSE AREA AT THE TIME OF HIS RETIREMENT.


MEMORIAL SERVICES ARE PENDING AND WILL BE ANNOUNCED WHEN FINALIZED.
